Join the small but powerful country of Paraguay as they attempt to assert their dominance on a young South American political climate. After numerous land disputes with Brazil, Paraguay and its hawkish leader will attempt to use its vast army to save their ally government, the National Party of Uruguay, from a Brazilian coup. Can they overcome Brazil’s mighty network of allies and large pool of resources or will their lack of diplomacy doom their fearless offensive?
Faris Abdin is a sophomore at Freeman High School and is thrilled to welcome delegates to one of FreeMUN’s most compelling committees. He has participated in Model UN for 3 years, with a preference to crisis committees because of their chaotic nature. As a student of the Center for Leadership, Government, and Global Economics, Faris likes studying the humanities, is a student leader of DSF Mock Trial, and is a French Club member. Outside of school, Faris enjoys goofing off with friends, sleeping, and finding weird historical conflicts to turn into crisis committees.
Neil Dhawan is a sophomore in the Leadership Center here at Freeman, and this is his 4th year in Model UN. He loves crisis committees, having participated in them exclusively since he began Model UN. He enjoys playing tennis and running other clubs in his free time. He looks forward to chairing in FreeMUN V.
