Hosted and organized by students and staff at Douglas S. Freeman High School, FreeMUN is a Model United Nations conference catering to Virginia middle and high school students. Through our diverse committee offerings, delegates are able to simulate the work of ambassadors, legislators, business executives, historical figures, scientists, and even fictional characters in order to address the problems surrounding us daily.
At FreeMUN, we aim to provide a constructive and interactive experience for delegates to collaborate with their like-minded peers and devise solutions to issues and controversies they feel passionately about. Our hope is that delegates' diverse perspectives can serve to complement each other and create greater understanding in committee.
Dare to Discover:
As society advances technologically and socially, it is important, now more than ever, to maintain ambition and determination to reach new heights. This is why we chose this year’s theme, Dare to Discover, to highlight the importance of innovation and creativity in these changing times. We encourage delegates to take this theme of change and progress, and to apply it to each of their committees to find solutions to complex and challenging issues.
