The Economic and Social Council deals with economic, social, cultural, and health matters as well as human rights and fundamental freedoms. In this committee, delegates will attempt to resolve and come to agreements on issues related to climate change and the post-pandemic economy. With so many social and economic issues arising after the pandemic, the relevance of this committee is imperative to the future success of the world.
Vrusha Pramod is a junior and is in her third year of Model UN with FreeMUN. In her free time, Vrusha enjoys running for Freeman’s track team as well as participating in various clubs such as Young Democrats, Red Cross, and Mock Trial. She is excited to be chairing ECOSOC this year and looks forward to meeting the delegates!
Saanvi Gourishetty is a junior and in her third year of Model UN. In addition to Model UN, she is an officer for clubs such as the Red Cross, Paws for a Cause, and Young Dems. She enjoys being a member of Equity Ambassadors, FBLA, Asian Student Alliance, and Freemans track team. Saanvi is thrilled to meet new delegates and hear what the delegates will contribute to the ECOSOC committee as a chair!
